Cylinder & Slide Beretta hammers and sears are CNC EDM cut from billet alloy steel plate stock and finished machined on CNC machining centers. They are then heat treated to 50-54 RC completely through the part. The tolerances are held +- .0005”. Each part is 100% inspected and checked for proper heat treatment. Each part comes with a certification of heat treat check and each part will have the tiny dimple imprint made by the diamond point on the Rockwell Hardness Tester.
The only difference between the low mass hammer and the match hammer is the physical weight of the hammer. The low mass hammer weighs less than the match hammer. The geometry is exactly the same for both hammers. The trigger pull sets will normally drop in at approximately 4.5 lb. single action trigger pull and 2lb. less double action trigger pull. You can easily set the trigger pull at 3-3.5 lb. for target use only with proper sear and hammer engagement stoning. I recommend that you start your stoning process by simply stoning a slight relief angle on the back edge of the sear nose and then check the trigger pull. Many times this is all that is required to reduce the trigger pull.
